To Our Amazing Educators Everywhere,
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
Each year, Instructure takes a moment to step back and say a resounding thank you to the educators who guide, encourage, and inspire learners around the world. Your work continues to shape not just what students know, but who they become.
Whether you're teaching in person, online, or a mix of both, your commitment to learning is the heart of classrooms everywhere. You spark curiosity, cultivate resilience, and build confidence in ways that ripple far beyond the school walls.
In celebration of all you do, our wonderful Learning Services team has designed a new, free home page template for use in your Canvas courses. This is just a small way for us to recognize and support the extraordinary care you put into your courses every day. These templates are customizable and designed with accessibility in mind so you can ensure every student is able to stay engaged.
We hope these resources make your course prep a little easier.
This week, I invite all of us to pause and reflect on the moments when a teacher made a difference in our lives.
Maybe it was the teacher who saw potential in you when no one else did. The one who challenged you, encouraged you, or simply made you feel like you belonged. Their impact is lasting, often shaping the trajectory of our lives in ways we don’t fully appreciate until much later.
I think of the educators who taught me to love learning because they met me where I was, saw me fully, and helped me grow. They are a big part of the reason that I, too, became an educator.
So, here’s a simple challenge:
Think of a teacher who changed your life.
Now, if you can, tell them. Reach out. Send a message. Write a note. Let them know how much their work matters. If you can’t connect with them directly, consider sharing your story on social media or in the comments below. The world needs more reminders of just how powerful a teacher’s influence can be.
Let’s honor educators not just this week, but every day. Let’s continue to build a culture of gratitude for the people who build the future, one student at a time.
With admiration and appreciation,
Jody
